Bring back the Zephyr nameplate, again.
Like everyone else here, I think Lincoln needs a big, RWD car in order to be relevant again. Most people say it needs a V8. I think what would set it apart is giving it a smooth V12 like the original Zephyr.
The last time they brought back the Zephyr, it was a Fusion, and then they changed the name to the MKZ. A FWD V6 powered car doesn't deserve the Zephyr name! If they developed a new, RWD platform, made it about the size of a 7 series/S Class, and gave it a V12 I think people would take note, and maybe, just maybe, Lincoln (excuse me, The Lincoln Motor Company ) could rise again.

There's a much better chance of me winning the Lotto while being struck by lightening than there is that Ford will build another V12-powered car.

and that's exactly why Lincoln will fade out into oblivion.

Why? Cadillac didn't have to build the Sixteen to make a comeback. They did it with excellent cars powered by V6s and V8s. Ford have world-class versions of those already, they just need to package them in cars that are more bespoke/interesting.

I'm saying they need a flagship. Not all their cars need a V12! No one even thinks of Lincoln at all anymore, so they need something outrageous to grab attention.

That flagship can be powered by a Coyote. They've only scratched the surface of what that engine can do. We don't need them to incur unnecessary costs developing a new motor that will have limited applications to save Lincoln.

That's the sensible thing to do.

I've always held the theory that they should start building the 1962 Continental again. No changes, just build it like they did 50 years ago.

The funny thing is, the Zephyr historically doesn't have to be a huge car overall. Just fairly good sized or more in overall scale - for the coupe, a tall coupe with full-size width and fairly long (but only for a two-door) due to sweeping styling. For th3e four door, about the same proportionate increase as a two-door to four-door car of the 70s - kept within reach IOW. I think not as big as an S-class or 7-Series, but certainly no smaller than a 5-series. Presence - that's what you're shooting for, not bloat. If all the proportions are right, just "big"...

As we have seen, their problems arent really car related, they have the most problems through their marketing departemnt. Bring the Zephyr back sure, but the trick will be trying to get everyone to buy it, not just some mad-men watchers.
The Continental name plate must be brought back. It must be a square modern yacht. they could do that VERY well. but they just wouldn't know how to sell it. Is there a car being sold now that's luxury but can't handle? The Panther is out of production, the Caddy's are all "sports sedans" now. The Fusion is decent but everything has some sort of 'sport' attached to it. A Zephyr or Continetal would be purely Interstate boat and I'm afraid they would build it and wonder why the kids aren't interested.

I'm sure my opinion wont be popular, but I think Lincoln should be sold to the Chinese. At this point, I don't think the brand can compete with German rivals in the luxury segment.
